Some models are stil manufactured in the Gothenburg suburb of Torslanda, while many others are manufactured in Belgium and China. In Arendal, next to Torslanda (on Hisingen island North of central Gothenburg), you find the impressive Volvo Museum , right next to the shore of Kattegat. The Volvo car manufacturer has its roots on Hisingen; it was there that their first factory was located and the first car, the Volvo ÖV 4, was produced in 1927. Today, the company still has its main office and production facilities on the island.
